A New Season

courtesy of google images
It is my annual activity going up to a solitary place where I listed down all my plans for the next year. It is also an evaluation of what has been transpired in my life for the past twelve months.

2011 has been is a year of breakthrough, deliverance and healing in my life. I traveled to a place where I have seen the beauty of God's creation. Now, 2012 is approaching-- I'm claiming God's favor in my life in every aspect of my life. I ask the Lord to strengthen my life, give me wisdom and discernment in making decisions, and a passionate heart for my loved ones.

This 2012, I will keep on going and pressing on what God has entrusted to me (Philippians 3:14). I will live in accordance to God's will and purpose (Zechariah 4:6). Make my life to be channel of blessing to everyone by God's grace. I would like to be used for God's greater purpose.

Bless my heart's desire this 2012, as I enter to a life that embraces possibility in this new season for God's glory. In Jesus Name.

Isaiah 49:1-6

A very common yet unique numbers  in the calendar today. We are going to experience four unusual dates  1.1.111.11.11,  11.1.1111.11.11 for this year 2011.

While everyone is doing a lot of activities for today's date 11.11.11. I just want to remind myself from the word of God at Isaiah 49:1-6.

1 Listen to me, you islands;  hear this, you distant nations:
Before I was born the LORD called me; from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name.
2 He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.
3 He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”
4 But I said, “I have labored in vain;  I have spent my strength for nothing at all.
Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand, and my reward is with my God.”
5 And now the LORD say he who formed me in the womb to be his servant
to bring Jacob back to him, and gather Israel to himself,
for I am[a] honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength—
6 he says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
to restore the tribes of Jacob  and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,  that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”

Isaiah 49:1-6

You are precious than the dates. You are called by God. Let's make everyday remarkable for the glory of God.

Seasons of Life

A TIME FOR EVERYTHING

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Lord, I'm taking this time to be silent and to mend this heart. Thank you Lord for this season of Life. The sweetest thing I've got from you. I Love You, Lord.

Living a Significant Life

Photo taken in Samal Island Davao City
Many of us are passionately engaged on the road towards success, but if we were to be questioned as to whether or not we are living a life of significance, we may not have an immediate answer to that question.

Last week in Makati Life Group, I shared 4 things to consider in living a significant life.

1. A Significant Life Assumes Divine Intervention
2. A Significant Life Involves Giftedness
3. Significance demands Hardwork
4. Significance reflects Humility

Thank God for blessing each and everyone last week. God has out poured his blessing and anointing upon the people in marketplace especially the leaders. God bless Makati!

The Pink Cross

I still remembered when you attended Makati Life Group gathering in Ayala Triangle. A timid person thus far wanted to speak in front of many, however, never had the chance to speak out yet.  Few months back, you attended another gathering and brought friends too. Isn’t amazing that you are bringing friends for Jesus? Yeah! Weeks after, you started to share your personal relationship with God and it was so astounding knowing that you are involved in the ministry of God.

It may be strange to know a man asking God for a sign for specific request of his heart. (Yes! you asked for it. Hahaha!) Good thing, God showed it. I don’t know exactly the request but you asked for a PINK CROSS. Now that God has showed you this, I pray that will serve as a reminder of your prayer to God.

Few hours from now, you will be celebrating a birthday. Yahoo! Now, it calls for a cake and candle to blow! Hahaha! Yeah, Happy Birthday, to you!

Thank you for being my prayer partner! I pray for a meaningful life ahead and success in all aspect of life. I pray that you may claim this word of God in your life "8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9 ---I pray that you will be strong and courageous everyday by God's Grace.

Two by Two by OS Hillman

Two by Two
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1 by Os Hillman
Friday, August 05 2011

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work." Ecclesiastes 4:9
Have you discovered yet that you are incomplete by yourself? During my "warrior" stage of life you would have been hard-pressed to convince me that I needed you or anyone else. I know few people willing to admit their need for others, but many who live according to this principle. However, sooner or later we discover God's truth regarding our need for others.
God made us to need others. We may not discover this until we fail - fail in a business, a marriage, a close friendship, or in a client relationship. We are incomplete without the ongoing input from others into our lives. An independent spirit is one of the most detestable sins from God's viewpoint. It is the highest form of pride. "Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice" (Prov. 13:10).
God has made each of us so that we have only so many gifts. He did not give any of us all the available gifts. Hence, we learn to depend on others and to humbly trust others to complete us where we are deficient.
David had Jonathan. Paul had Silas. John Wesley had George Whitefield. Martin Luther had Philip Melanchthon, who was 14 years younger. Martin Luther learned that he needed someone in his life to complete the work God called him to do. Luther had the greatest respect for this friend who helped him reform the Church of their day, and the Church as we know it at present. Luther learned a great deal from Melanchthon, who was a great scholar at a young age. He could speak several languages, and he became Professor of Greek at the new University of Wittenberg at 21 years of age. This was ten months after Luther posted his famous theses on the church door in Wittenberg. Melanchthon helped shape the Protestant movement of the sixteenth century through his research, writings, moral purpose, and religious conscience. Luther and Melanchthon became inseparable, and when they died, they were buried next to each other.
Who has God placed in your life to complete you? Perhaps it is a mate. Perhaps it is a close friend. Perhaps it is a business partner. If you lack this in your life, I encourage you to seek someone out who can speak into your life. If you have someone like this, tell him or her how much you appreciate the role he or she plays in your life.

The other side of Brokenness

The second half the year will end few days from now. I believe that we have encountered a lot of victories and failures, joy and sadness, fullness and brokenness. I know that God has created the opposite of something to differentiate the situations. In the Bible there is an oxymoron stories that talks about failures as an avenue for success, mourning to gladness and brokenness as strength. I wonder why this has been used by God to maximize one’s fullest potential for His greatest glory, the Lord has to break us so that we might have a new kind of spiritual, emotional and physical strength that is not human in origin. Bible stories like Paul was broken on the Damascus road but God used Him to change the lives of many people all throughout the world. Jacob was broken at Peniel when he asked God for a blessing.  When we are broken, we see the weakness of humans’ strength and come to seize with the truth that we can do nothing in our own strength. According to OS Hillman, new strength emergences when we are broken and after acknowledging our own brokenness then God will move mightily in our lives.

Thank you Lord for the love you have out poured in this season, I thank you for a teachable and contrite heart. I would like to greet you a happy Father's Day, you are very true to your word and promise. We love you, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords-- the author of life-- Jesus.

Book Review: Undercover

John Bevere shares his personal experience, biblical encounter, and even personal stories shared of and by people close to him, on how obedience and submission to the authority do not hold us captive, rather, give us freedom to life in all its fullness.

Undercover describes the safety found in hidden identities. It includes freedom and protection. Biblically speaking, the one who is under cover is the one who is under God’s authority. The bible says “ He who dwells in the secrete place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust” (Psalm 91:1-2).

As Makati Life group is having a book review for this month of June, I also encourage everyone to read the book of John Bevere entitled "Undercover".

Kung Fu Panda 2

I have watched Kung Fu Panda 2 in Rockwell Makati City. I have remembered lines from the following casts:

The Soothsayer: Your story may not have such a happy beginning but that doesn't make you who you are, it is the rest of your story, who you choose to be.

Po: You should Shen. You got to let go of the stuff from past, because it just doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is what you choose to be now.

 Po: Inner Peace

  1. Po: Scars heal.
  2. Lord Shen: No, they don't. Wounds heal.
  3. Po: Oh, right. What do scars do? Fade?
  4. Lord Shen: I don't care what scars do!

Master Shifu: Remember dragon warrior, anything is possible when you have inner peace.

Those are the lines I like. Well, it probably relates to my life. Kung Fu Panda 2 is a good movie. It relaxes my nerves and laugh to the max. I love Po's character, the Dragon Warrior.

3 Things Today

I got a chance to talk to Y-AM Ortigas Life Group yesterday (May 10) in their small group. I share these 3 pointers to be happy. I actually read this in one of the articles of Bo Sanchez. I have included verses in the bible just to keep focus on God's Direction.

3 Things TODAY. 3 Things to be HAPPY.

1.       SOMETHING TO DO.  Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesusgiving thanks to God the Father through him.
What are the things you have been doing now? We are born in the earth for a purpose, we should be reminded that we are living for God's purpose and direction.

2.       SOMETHING TO LOVE. 1 John 4:17  Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
What are the things you are passionate about?

If you love God you will not feel alone.  You will certainly get a set of friends and share same passion.

3.       SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. Philippians 3:14 with my eyes fixed on the goal I push on to secure the prize of God's heavenward call in Christ Jesus.
What are the things are you looking for? What are your dreams?

If you seek God, He will give you a vision for your future.  Example A video game can earn $30M because people are bored, they want to do something everyday in their lives.

Corinthians 9:24- 27 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air;but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

Conclusion:  Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:58

Whatever you are doing now, always think that your acts are seen by God. I know that everyday of our lives we have something to do, something to love, something to look forward to.

Open Mouth. Open Heart. Open Door

First quarter has passed by; I am somehow complacent and encountered impediment in some areas of life. I realized that it’s not easy to live each day when you are not yielding in His way. My mind and heart are preoccupied with self-centered thoughts and determination.  Just recently, I open my mouth and pour out the longing of my hearts. I fell on my knees and tears shed on the ground. My mouth started to utter perplexity, pains and yearnings. Beyond doubt, this world is a place of sorrow, confusion and hurts. A person must have extra faith and determination to rise above the crowd. There is a story in the bible that reminds of a woman who has been bleeding for 40 years. She has been suffering from pain for a very long time but this woman opted to get rid of it. This woman looked up to the source of healing by touching the cloak of Jesus. Miraculously, this woman received healing. Indeed, a breakthrough!

With all the shortcomings in life, I know that this will determine how far I will travel the road of success. I believe that this will take me to a deeper understanding of God’s will. Today, I have decided to be determined in spite of circumstances. I’m opening my MOUTH, my HEART to the Author and Perfecter of my Faith—Jesus. I ask for an open DOOR of opportunities from this day and forward.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for.
Keep on seeking, and you will find.
Matthew 7:7 NLT.

******
-April 22-23, 2011 l  Touch of Glory, Antipolo City -
Day 1: Mark 11:25 l Therefore I tell you, whatever you ASK for in prayer, BELIEVE that you have RECEIVED it, and it will BE YOURS.

Day 2: Psalm 52:9 l I will praise you forever for what you have DONE; in your name I will HOPE, for your NAME is GOOD. I will praise you in the presence of your SAINTS.

Control your Anger before it controls you

Anger is "an emotional state that varies in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage," according to Charles Spielberger, PhD, a psychologist who specializes in the study of anger. Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. When we lose of a circumstances that we have place certain expectations on and those expectations do not result in our desired outcome, we are tempted to be angry and when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems—problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life.  Like other emotions, it is accompanied by physiological and biological changes; when you get angry, your heart rate and blood pressure go up, as do the levels of your energy hormones, adrenaline, and noradrenaline.

The source of this type of anger are both fear and protection of personal rights but when we believe we have the right to something we have not given the Lord permission to allow an outcome different from what we want.  Timothy says "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind… “ 2 Timothy 1:7

How to cope up with anger:
courtesy of google images
1.       Express your angry feeling by being assertive. You have to learn how to make clear what your needs are, and how to get them met, without hurting others. Being assertive doesn't mean being demanding; it means being respectful of yourself and others.
2.       Focus on something positive. Stop thinking of the problem that stimulates anger.
3.       Calm down. It will help you realize the importance of words the person. It will help you to relax and reserve anger.

Our Spiritual, Physical, and Emotional condition will greatly determine how we react to situation. We know what anger is and what it brings to us, let us give up our rights to God. Solomon says Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool” . Ecclesiastes 7: 9
